Inside HLK: How Nasal Strips & Mouth Tape Are Made

Most buyers never see how their nasal strips and mouth tape are actually made. Here’s a look inside HLK’s 3,500 m² facility — the production lines that turn medical-grade adhesive into finished private-label products.

1. Nasal Strips: Shape & Material

The bone-shape and classic nasal strips you see on shelves start as rolls of medical-grade adhesive and backing fabric. Watch the production line:

Key steps shown in the video:

  • Raw material: medical-grade non-woven backing + hypoallergenic adhesive, rolled and tension-controlled.
  • Die-cutting: precision dies cut the bone-shape or classic shape in one pass — this is where “shape & material” meet.
  • Spring band: the two lateral spring-action bands are laminated into the strip to create the lift mechanism.
  • QC sampling: strips are pulled off the line and tested for adhesion and shape consistency.

The result is a single-use strip that mechanically opens the nasal valve for up to 12 hours. Brands can choose shape, size, color and adhesive strength for private label — see the customization options.

2. Mouth Tape: Custom Colors & Full OEM

Mouth tape production follows a similar flow, with one extra variable: color and print. Watch how HLK runs custom colors on the mouth tape line:

What matters for buyers:

  • Lip-shape design with a central breathing opening — the safety feature sleep-wellness brands look for.
  • Skin-safe adhesive formulated to hold overnight and remove cleanly in the morning.
  • Custom colors & printing — brand colors, logo printing and packaging are all part of the OEM package, not extras.

3. The Packing Process

Production doesn’t end at the cutting line. Watch the full packing process — from strips off the line to cartons ready for export:

The packing line covers:

  • Sachet / pouch packing with custom-branded print.
  • Retail box assembly — 10/20/30-strip counts, bilingual inserts.
  • Batch labeling & coding — batch number, expiry, barcode for traceability.
  • Export cartons — moisture-protected, ready for sea freight (EXW, FOB, CIF or DDP).

What This Means for Your Brand

Every step above is available to your brand: custom shapes, custom colors, custom packaging, private label — from 500 boxes for stock designs, 5,000 boxes for fully custom. Certifications (FDA, CE MDR, ISO 13485) and batch documents (COA, MSDS) accompany every shipment. See our factory certifications and the MOQ guide.
